Fall 2012 Season Begins Week of August 19th

The Old Bhoys (Over 30) are set to play AC Pasadena on Thursday, August 23rd at Severna Park High School.  This should be strong match as AC Pasadena always fields a quality team.

The Bhoys (Open Team) are also set to play that week as they face Middle River FC on Sunday, August 26th.  The MMSL consolidated the 1st and 2nd divisions from last year into one division this year and this will be first time these two teams have faced off against each other.  It should be a good match!

Stay tuned for more updates through out the season as both teams look to improve upon last season’s successes.

10-man Old Bhoys Win Semifinal; Through to Championship!!!

June 7th, 2012 — The Old Bhoys, Liam Flynn’s Baltimore Celtic Over 30 team, faced the Bay Area Striker in a semifinal playoff match on this Thursday night, and things did not start well for for the hoops.  At the relatively early game start time of 9 PM, only 8 players had arrived.  The Old Bhoys lined up in a brave 3-3-1 and played keep away for half an hour, and, somehow, managed to keep the score 0-0.  A half-hour after the start, two more players showed up but the Hoops never had more than ten.  But Pablo Gonzalez ripped a shot from distance and found the back of the net shortly before the half putting the Old Bhoys in an improbable lead going into the break.

Mike Reed added to the tally shortly after the restart sending himself through by nutmegging Bay Area’s center back.  After ten minutes or so of sustained pressure, however, the Bhoys conceded with about twenty minutes of regular time remaining.  The defense, however, held firm, substitute keeper Ryan Reif made some clutch saves, and the Old Bhoys kept the scoreline 2-1 until Rohan Webber, poached another goal to seal the game at 3-1.

THe Bhoys now head to the Anne Arundel Spring 2012 Over 30 Championship Match against Crofton United on Thursday, June 14th at place tbd!!!

Baltimore Celtic Unlims Back In Action

June 3rd, 2012 — Liam Flynn’s Baltimore Celtic FC Unlimited Team was back in action today against BTFOOM in their second to last regular season appearance in the Anne Arundel Spring league.  Rafiq Gharbi reprised his role as midfield playmakers, paired with Sean Edwards, and the two of them threatened throughout.  Indeed, it was Gharbi who scored, unassisted, in the 80th minute to seal the 1-0 victory for the bhoys.  THe team now sits comfortably in second place and a win June 10th against Dutch Oven will put the hoops through to the playoffs.

Spring 2012 Week 10 Results

The unlimited team had the week off due to the Memorial Day holiday.

The Over 40 Masters team saw their game called due to lightning.

The Over 30 team played their final regular season game and dismantled Pax City 6-1 on Thursday, May 31st.  This win secures a second seed in the playoffs for the Old Bhoys who have finished their regular season in second place after only two seasons playing together!
